Marc is a seasoned educator and transformational leader known for his evidence-based, data-driven approach to school leadership. He is dedicated to empowering staff, developing leadership capacity, and creating conditions that enhance personal agency.
Marc has 32 years experience in education, including 4 as a middle school principal and 14 as a high school principal.
During his tenure as a high school principal, Marc led what started as a relatively small 1300 student community school and expanded through new construction into the largest school building ever constructed in the State of Maryland.
ASCD named Marc their Outstanding Young Educator for his commitment to advancing education and ensuring all students receive equitable, holistic learning experiences. Since then, he has led leadership development initiatives in areas such as school culture and professional capital, equitable leadership, advocacy, strategic planning, and effective supervision and evaluation.
A passionate advocate for educators, Marc has testified before the Maryland State Board of Education, the U.S. Democratic Caucus, and the U.S. Department of Education’s National Policy Development & Education Advocacy Group.
Marc believes that every student who walks through the doors of our schools has within them the capacity for greatness. It is the job of school leaders to create the conditions necessary for that greatness to become a reality. Marc has spent his career dismantling barriers that have led to access, opportunity, and achievement gaps across our country.
